Dad has been settling into his new home at The Woods on French Creek for 4 weeks now. We’ve been doing everything in our power to make the place as comfortable for him as possible. The one thing that will always make him more comfortable there every time is having loved ones come to visit.
Phil would love to have more visitors! The best times to visit are between 10AM-12PM and 4PM-7PM. He is in room 615 at The Woods on French Creek. Talking is becoming a bit more difficult for him now, but he loves to hear jokes and science facts. He has some books in the room that you could read to him, including his Bible. He also enjoys watching Christmas movies on Hallmark with his guests.
While we appreciate the love he’s receiving, please do not text or call Phil.
Part of getting Dad settled into his new home has involved collaborating with the staff who work there. Dad needs assistance with everything at this point, so getting him the level of care he requires has been challenging. We are grateful for the administrators there who have listened and advised us as we learn firsthand about how to advocate for Dad in this new environment.
Dad’s room is feeling cozier now that it’s being filled with loving gifts from friends and family! Since my brother and his family are in Tennessee, they mailed a gift of handmade cards, Christmas ornaments, and even long-distance hugs! Enjoy the photos of Dad’s early Thanksgiving dinner and the video of him opening gifts from his 3 grandchildren.
